Nobita is once again perplexed about what to do with his zero test results. A burst of wind scatters his test papers, and he falls into a garbage dump while attempting to reassemble them. He discovers a little withering tree that has captured one of his papers and chooses to carry it home with him. He tries to plant it in his garden but is caught by his mother, who forbids him from doing so.

Doraemon, still wanting to preserve it but not being permitted to grow, comes up with the concept of bringing it to life with a gadget he uses. Nobita named the small tree “Kib” because it can only pronounce “ki.” As time passes, Nobita’s parents embrace Kib since he was a bright young man who assisted Nobita’s mother whenever he was away. Aliens from Planet Green, on the other hand, decide to pass judgement, saying that humans are destroying the green on Earth.

Dorami had borrowed all of Doraemon’s equipment, so there was little Doraemon could do. They manage to flee and come upon Princess Rire, who dupes them into thinking she was escorting them home, but discovers along the way that what her adviser was about to do was incorrect.
